Who we are

Stephanie Chan trading as ‘What The Tech’ provides two services, Electronic Repairs and Web Solutions. Our studio is based in Bristol, UK.

How do we collect information

We obtain information about you when you purchase through our website, or when you contact us about our products and services.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.

What type of information is collected

The personal information we collect might include your name, address and email address. If you make a purchase online, your card information is not held by us, it is collected by our third-party payment processors, who specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions.

We may also obtain information about your device including: Brand, Type, Model, IMEI Number, and Colour.

Passcodes to test the devices in for repair will be required but will be asked for separately and stored away from the device. Only the relevant personnel will have access to these details. We request that all our customers passcode their device when posting them to us, to ensure your security and data protection. 

How is your information used

We may use your information to:

·         carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into by you and us;

·         dealing with entries into a competition;

·         notify you of changes to our services;

·         send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest;

·         detect, prevent and address technical issues

We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or for as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us. You can request your details to be deleted from our system at any time, providing there is no ongoing work.

Chat Service

For people who use our Live Chat service , we use a third-party provider, ManyChat , to supply and support our Live Chat service, which we use to handle customer enquiries in real time.

If you use the Live Chat service we will collect your name, email address (optional) and the contents of your Live Chat session. This information will not be shared with any other organisations and you can choose to have your information removed by contacting accounts@what-the-tech.co.uk.

Who we share your data with

We will never sell your information to third parties.

We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third Party Service Providers working on our behalf: We may pass your information to our third-party service providers, agents subcontractors and other associated organisations for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf (for example to process payments and send you mailings).
